Mr Todd Bennet

Recent duties:
Todd Bennet is the Institute's web, publications and publicity manager. He also provides financial administration and reporting support to the Director and research project managers. Other duties include the appointment and induction of staff and associates, and acting as a liaison point between Institute
staff and the broader RMIT community, external networks and the public.
Todd has a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Public Policy and Management from the University of Melbourne, and is currently completing a Diploma of Professional Writing and Editing from RMIT University.

Dr Peter Burrows

Recent research:
Dr. Peter Burrows has an eclectic work background covering a variety of disciplines.
In 2004 he completed a practice-based PhD-thesis-in-three-dimensions exploring the intersections of art, philosophy, management and education. Since June 2004 he has worked as a Senior Research Fellow with the RMIT University funded Learning by Design Project investigating the potential for teaching practices that are more mindful, pedagogically richer and more inclusive. In this role he has co-ordinated researchers in various parts of Australia. Between 2000-2002 he worked as a founding member of the multidisciplinary research group 'The Telstra Home Team' on a variety of research projects ranging from early childhood education to internet for seniors. Since 1999 Dr Burrows has lectured at RMIT University in management and industrial design. He also teaches business research methods at the Singapore Institute of Management.

Dean Coldicott
is responsible for the administration (including candidature management) of the research and higher
degrees programs within the School of Global Studies, Social Science and Planning.
He is also an actively engaged postgraduate research student within
the Globalism Institute, completing a PhD by Research on 'The Emergence of
the World Trade Organization: Multilateralism, Public Policy and Global
Governance'.

Ms Rachael Dunstan

Recent duties:
Rachael Dunstan has worked in a variety of administrative and research assistant positions in universities,
as a Project Officer on the Iraq Out-of-Country Voting Program in 2005, and as an Electorate Officer.
Rachael has a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from the University of Melbourne and a Graduate Diploma (Communications) from Monash University.

Gus Gollings is a PhD candidate at RMIT University and is employed
as the primary researcher for an Australian Research Council linkage
grant between Fuji Xerox Australia and the Globalism Institute,
entitled 'Towards the ‘Semantic Web’: Standards and Interoperability
across Document Management and Publishing Supply Chains'.

Recent research:
Cate Gribble joined the Globalism Institute in 2005 where she is currently working on an ARC Discovery project
'Governing International Trade in Higher Education: A Comparative Study of International Education Policy Development',
with a particular focus on international student mobility and skilled migration. Cate became interested in the area of international education in 1997 whilst working at the University San Carlos in
Guatemala City where she was completing an assignment with Australian Volunteers International (AVI). She submitted her Masters thesis in 2002 which
was later converted into a journal article for Higher Education Research and Development (co-authored with Chris Ziguras).
In January 2005 Cate was seconded to work on a DEST-funded Offshore Quality project 'Improving offshore teaching models to
promote offshore-to-onshore equivalence in learning outcomes' which involved an investigation of RMIT's offshore programs
in both Vietnam and Tanzania. The project was submitted in June 2005 and it is envisaged that the outcome of the project
will contribute to the development of a broader framework for quality assurance of Australian offshore programs.
Cate has a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) and a Masters of Education from Monash University.

Ms Carmenesa Moniz Noronha

Recent research:
Carmenesa Noronha is a researcher and project assistant working with the Globalism Institute on its Timor-Leste research program. She is responsible for the questionnaires under the Community Security and Sustainability project and assists on a number of other projects. She is also the Office and Finance Manager for Globalism Institute research in Timor-Leste. Carmenesa speaks Indonesian, Tetun and Bunaq, and is learning English.

Dr Lisa Slater

Recent research:
Indigenous festivals; Indigenous-settler relations in Australia; postcolonial cultural production; theories and senses of belonging and home in contemporary Australia.
Lisa Slater joined the Globalism Institute in 2007 where she is currently working on a research project examining the relationship between Indigenous Australian Festivals and the health and well-being of youth and community. Before joining the Globalism Institute, she lectured in the Koori Centre, University of Sydney, teaching in the areas of Indigenous cultural production, Australian race relations and Indigenous rights.

Recent research:
Helen Smith joined the Globalism Institute in 2005. She was previously Associate Dean, Planning & Innovation in the former Faculty of Education, Language and Community Services, RMIT University, having joined RMIT after a period in senior management in the Victorian government. She recently completed her PhD 'From Technical Education to Workplace Training: Emergence of the Australian National Training Package'.

Pia Smith joined the Globalism Institute in 2005 to provide research support on the Community Sustainability collaboralive project, with a particular focus on the 'Wellbeing of Communities' project. She is currently undertaking research on the 'Generations' project for the Cultural Development Network. Pia is also the production editor of Arena Magazine and works freelance as an editor and writer.

Ms Anna Trembath

Recent research:
Anna Trembath's primary area of interest is the nexus between identity and forms of social conflict, with a particular focus on gender,
nationalism and postcolonialism, as well as recognition and reconciliation.
Since 2004 Anna has worked on the Sources of Insecurity project with a focus on the Globalism Institute’s activities in Timor-Leste. She is currently working on an Irish-Aid funded project which aims to map the pursuit of gender equality in Timor-Leste since independence, while developing future research activities with regard to gender, identity and security in contemporary Timor-Leste. Anna has traveled to Timor-Leste on various occasions over the past three years, including several times during 2005 to help organise and follow-up the Globalism Institute-sponsored conference ‘Challenges and Possibilities: International Organisations and Women in Timor-Leste’. Anna continues to work extensively with organisations in Timor-Leste and in Australia on gender-focused projects.

Ms Mayra Walsh

Recent research:
Mayra Walsh is a Dili-based researcher working on a variety of projects within the Globalism Institute's Timor-Leste research program. She manages the research undertaken on Community in Timor-Leste, which includes the Community Security and Sustainability project: a six-site study over 2007 and 2008. She has also worked on the 'Vota ba Futuru' project across 2007, and in 2008 will commence her honours degree with RMIT. Mayra speaks both Indonesian and Tetun, as well as English.
